Review: Dry Wax combat jacket from Peregrine

Say hello to my beautiful new coat. The lovely lot at Peregrine Clothing posted it to me and now I pretty much live in it.

Peregrine’s
gorgeous collection of beautifully made British classics stems from a heritage of eight generations of expertise, and each piece is crafted with a lot of love and attention. Their winter collection is a delight of cosy knitwear in classic greys and creams, luxe woollen accessories and their classic and perfectly cut all-weather jackets.

My new Dry Wax jacket isn’t cheap at £189, but is definitely a piece worth investing in. Durable and carefully crafted, it’s the perfect coat to take you from winter to spring.

Made from hard wearing, waterproof waxed cotton, it’s ready to face the elements but is also super lightweight, folding up to a convienently tiny size for stuffing in a rucksack mid-adventure. Plus, if you get it covered in mud, dog hair or other delights, you can shove it in the washing machine and it will emerge in true combat coat style to fight another day.

Oh, and the lining is all floral and pretty. It’s hard not to love a tough khaki coat that has secret flowers on the inside.

In summary, my new jacket has kept me warm cycling to work early on frosty mornings. It has kept me cosy on freezing photoshoots in fields. And it looks rather lovely going on mistletoe buying missions in Clifton Village. What more can you ask for?
