I’m Sian, and this is The Girl Outdoors, a blog for anyone who loves adventures. It features travel, sport, photography, outdoor style and gear reviews, and it’s here for inspiration if you feel like you need some fresh air.
I’m 27 and I’m a journalist whose idea of a good time includes falling off surfboards, skiing through powder, running in forests and travelling the world. I’m always looking for the next adventure. When I’m not out in the great outdoors I write an active travel column for the Independent and work as the head of Greentraveller.co.uk in Bristol in the UK. I’ve written for titles such as Lonely Planet, Cosmopolitan, Digital Camera Magazine, The Guardian and The Sunday Times Travel Magazine.
The Girl Outdoors is TGO Magazine’s Outdoors Blog of the Year and Webtog’s Best Travel Blog 2015. It’s also been listed as one of Go Outdoors’ top ten blogs, as well as in the top ten adventure blogs and top ten UK outdoors blogs.
The site’s design was created with help from the brilliant Pete Walker of Cap2 Solutions. Illustrations and most photos are by me. Sometimes my awesome and patient friends write stuff and model for me, thanks guys!
