ABOUT THE GIRL OUTDOORS

sian

Hello!

I’m Sian, and this is The Girl Outdoors, a blog for anyone who loves adventures. It features travel, sport, photography, outdoor style and gear reviews, and it’s here for inspiration if you feel like you need some fresh air.

I’m 26 and I’m a journalist with a penchant for falling off surfboards, skiing through powder, running in forests and travelling the world. I’m always looking for the next adventure. I grew up on a farm in Spain and currently work as the Online Editor of Countryfile Magazine in Bristol in the UK. I’ve written for titles such as Lonely Planet, Cosmopolitan, Digital Camera Magazine, The Guardian and The Times.

The Girl Outdoors has been shortlisted for the Great Outdoors Magazine blog awards and the Go Outdoors blog awards and is one of the top ten outdoors blogs in the UK.

The site’s design was created by the brilliant Pete Walker of Cap2 Solutions. Illustrations and most photos by Sian.

I just read your “Feeding the Birds” article in The Simple Things magazine (I live in the US and I’m a little behind in the issues!) and discovered your blog. Very cool!
