Messing about on the Dorset coast with the lovely Lucy. Lyme Regis is a bit of a beauty, all pastel beach huts, glorious fossil-filled beaches and the epic Cobb snaking out to sea. And I successfully ate an oyster for the first time ever *proud*. Read on a photo diary of what to do in Lyme Regis.
What To Do In Lyme Regis
Hey Lyme Regis! You so pretty. The perfect size for discovering in a weekend, this jewel of the town is stuffed with quirky bookshops and cosy cafes, all looking over the incredible Cobb, where many a literary heroine, from the French Lieutenant’s Woman to Persuasion’s Anne Elliot, have promendaded. We stayed at the Alexandra in the middle of town, a comfy bolthole complete with views of boats on the bay, a secret tower and a brass telescope for stargazing. My favourite things were most definitely attempting to swallow an oyster without looking like an idiot, wandering on the beach and finding tiny, perfectly formed ammonites and watching the sun set over the Cobb.
