Review: Target Dry Elle Mac in a Sac

It’s all springlike and sunshiney suddenly! I feel very happy indeed. The only issue I seem to be having is that I can’t seem to get dressing for unpredictable showers and bursts of sunshine, and have spent most of my time putting on and taking off jumpers at half-hour intervals. Luckily my sartorial dilemmas have been sold by Target Dry. Makers of my all-time favourite raincoats, Mac in a Sacs, they’ve launched a gorgeous new collection of lightweight, waterproof coverups in new shades and patterns, like this lovely floral Elle jacket (£29.99).

On a windy beach:
I took my Elle jacket on a surf trip to Pembrokeshire and it proved to be a fantastic beach coverup. Despite being as light as a feather, it’s great at stopping chilly winds, ideal for layering over a hoodie after a surf. Zipped pockets and elasticated cuffs are mega handy when rain sets in, and the hood is easy to pull out or zip away for a more streamlined look.

Commuting to work:
The Elle is the perfect city mac, as it folds up tiny weeny and can be packed or unpacked in seconds. The pretty little floral bag also has a handy carabiner for hooking onto your rucksack or pannier. It’s super lightweight, so you won’t sweat, but it still stops wind and keeps work clothes dry and mud-splatter free. Best of all, you can bung it in the washing machine and it’ll be fine.

Verdict:
The latest Mac in a Sac is pretty genius, and a massive steal at £29.99 for a coat you can wear anywhere in spring without overheating, and then pack up super small. If your trusty winter coat is a bit too heavy for spring, this is a fantastic replacement.
