The great outdoorsy Christmas gift guide 2014

It has returned once more! My annual outdoorsy gift guide is stuffed with all my favourite things for all your favourite people, from camping lasses and cliff-jumping lads to adventurous little ones. Plus there’s a mini roundup of socks. Because it’s not Christmas if you don’t get socks and a satsuma.

1. The Outsiders, £36.99 from Anthropologie
A beautifully designed book full of inspiring imagery and interviews from polar explorers, surf photographers and explorers. Be warned, it’ll make you itch for the wilderness.
PERFECT FOR: Arty types.

2. Paracord bracelet, £28.80 from Naimakka
A rather nice bracelet that unravels into a long length of tough paracord if you ever need it. Whip it out to tie stuff to your backpack, make a clothes line, fish with it or even make a splint for a broken ankle. Swedish Genius.
PERFECT FOR: Would-be explorers.

3. Clif bar, £1.34 from GoOutdoors
Being on the receiving end of many a post-run goodie bag means that I’ve tried most of the protein bars about, and Clif’s raisin and walnut is an absolute favourite. Delicious and perfect for a hit of energy on the trail.
PERFECT FOR: Sticking in stockings.

4. Romantic yeti jumper, £38 from Tipsy Elves
It’s a yeti! And he really likes you. This is one smooth abominable snowman, hey? Tipsy Elves are the purveyors of the best in bad taste and rather naughty Xmas jumpers that you’ll delight in upsetting your grandma with.
PERFECT FOR: Jazzing up your boyfriend.

5. Guerrilla Gardener Seedbomb, £5.99 from Not on the High Street
Make gardening hip with these dinky little bombs. They’re full of the seeds of hardy English plants that attract butterflies.
PERFECT FOR: Cool green-fingered mums.

6. Stag sweater, £30 from The Mute Collective
This elegant stag sweat is perfect if you don’t ‘do’ Christmas jumpers – the shiny nose is even removable, for wearing on post Boxing Day. Plus, it’s so soft and snuggly you’ll want to wear it all year.
PERFECT FOR: Your best friend.

7. Water bottles, £19.99 each from Sigg Switzerland
The world’s toughest water bottle has been reimagined for kids, starring the super cute Ruby and Max, intrepid travellers who are off to see the world. These may be meant for children but you’ll want to steal them for yourself.
PERFECT FOR: (not so) little ones.

8. Queen of the Mountain cycling jersey, £64 from Always Riding
King of the mountain? Pah! Climb those hills like a girl in this female-specific cut spotty jersey (complete with three deep pockets for storing your jelly babies).
