Adidas launched an awesome new trail shoe, designed for mountain runners and urban explorers. And then they threw a nice party for it.
Meet Adidas Outdoor’s new baby, the Terrex Boost (£120). These rugged trail running shoes use special Boost foam to cushion your feet and a super-rugged rubber outsole to give you great grip, even when you’re leaping over logs or side-slipping down scree. Tough and solid, these are great all-rounder, all-weather outdoors shoes, and whilst they might be able to keep up with competitive mountain runners they’re also ideal for forest jogs, winter mud runs and summer scrambling.
Product description: “Engineered for fast, competitive mountain running, these women’s outdoor shoes are built with a lightweight boost™ midsole that provides endless energy return. PRO MODERATOR™ support stabilises your stride, and a rugged Continental™ Rubber outsole penetrates the ground and holds onto slick, slippery surfaces. Designed to echo the contours of a woman’s foot, the shoes have a stretchy mesh upper, stable heel, speed lacing and EVA tongue top to ensure a snug, comfortable fit.”
The lovely Tom of awesome blog The All Rounder (check it out for fitness inspo – I’m definitely going fencing now) and I headed to Epping Forest to test out the Terrex Boost a few weeks ago – my idea of a pretty good day at work. We also performed some lovely pretend stretches whilst photographer Matt Pike took some shots. Since then I’ve run regularly in the Terrex Boost and whilst I might still choose a lighter barefoot running shoe in the summer, for comfort and durability on uneven and wet terrain I think I’d find the Terrex Boost hard to beat. They’re super comfortable, moulding quickly to feet and providing great fit with easily adjustable laces. And they look pretty sweet, too.
And because all great shoes deserve a little party, the Adidas clan held a proper nice shindig to celebrate the launch of the Terrex Boost. My lovely Lucy and I headed to The Driver in London to eat marshmallows, drink wine and make merry on the rooftop AND we got to hear from two inspiring ladies – intrepid adventurer Sophie Radcliffe and my climbing heroine and UK bouldering champion Shauna Coxsey talked about how they #livewithoutlimits as the sun set over the capital.
