Review: The Monster Race 2013

The mucky pups over at Muddy Race asked me to write a little review of my latest foray into cross-country obstacle running – last weekend’s 12k Monster Race. There were cow pats, 10ft walls, ice baths and some delightfully gloopy mud to contend with – heaven.

The Monster Race looks set to be a bit of posh amongst the mud run gang, set as it is in the gorgeously manicured Downton Abbey-esque grounds of Wiltshire’s Charlton Park. This adds a nice hint of elegance to the fact that you’re spending a big chunk your Saturday morning face down in a cow pat. The 12k course had been set up as a double lap of the 6k run, which meandered through woodlands and grassy open spaces with a hefty serving of obstacles to battle through.

And battle we did – read my full review of the run over at Muddy Race, along with a nice big serving of running event info, race reviews and training advice.
