Say hello to BERG Outdoor’s 2016 collection

Meet your new outdoor kit crush. Berg Outdoor just launched their European online store and it’s full of beautifully designed gear, perfect for travels in hot climates and adventures in the back country.

You may not have heard of BERG yet, but I’m betting you’ll love the innovative, stylish and outdoors-loving Portuguese brand. They just has launched a new website full of lovely gear, combining urban styling with technical know-how. Think gorgeous canvas backpacks, cotton shirts, moss-green waterproofs with cheeky flashes of neon and and buttery-soft leather boots. Here’s my pick from the 2016 collection:

Vasteras jacket, £110: This gorgeous jacket in a muted khaki is light, comfy and water repellent. Ideal for anything from festivals to multi-day hikes. The hood actually fits your head (a rare beast) and has a lovely tropical print inside to cheer you up on rainy days, too.

Gothenberg and Oulu t-shirts, £31 each: These pretty printed tees look fresh and summery but are magically also packed with techie smarts. Dri release® technology wicks away sweat on blazing sunny days and Fresh Guard® stops them smelling funky even after days on the trail.

Kouprey hiking boots, £101: These sturdy, fully waterproof boots are the star of BERG’s women’s footwear collection, and ideal for all seasons over varied terrain. Grippy Vibram soles, tough leather outers and comfy padding: dream hiking boots.

Other favourites:Casual but rugged enough for mountain weekends, these comfy-looking twill Aarhus trousers (£56) will see you happily into autumn and winter. Off trekking the world? Pack the Pikomayo shirt (£24), a relaxed, 100% cotton shirt. And the Odense tropical print shorts (£36) were made for surfing adventures.
