Loving the lazy days of summer? Might I politely suggest that winning a bottle of my favourite Rock Rose gin might make your plans to picnic on beaches and lounge by rivers all through this heatwave even better? Win Rock Rose gin in my new competition.
There’s nothing nicer after a day of hot sunny adventures than a cold gin and tonic, so I’m very excited to give away five bottle of my favourite, perfect for summer picnics and beach days. Handcrafted in Scotland by Dunnet Bay Distillers, Rock Rose is packed with 18 local botanicals and inspired by the Scottish coast and countryside. There’s a sharp kick from sea buckthorn berries that tastes like a day of beach foraging, and lovely Rhodiola Rosea, the gin’s namesake rock rose, which grows on the Scottish cliffs and was once harvested by foraging Vikings. The distillery sell their gorgeous classic gin and a limited edition summer version, and their illustrated ceramic bottles are works of art in their own right, so pretty you’ll want to keep them when all the gin is (sob) gone.
I took my Rock Rose gin to the Isles of Scilly with me for sundowners on the tiny island of St Agnes. What you mix it with is up to you, but my favourites are a shot of Rock Rose gin with apple and raspberry juice, ice and a slice of apple, or a simple gin and tonic with a few frozen sea buckthorn berries popped in for good measure (the best way to forage for sea buckthorn berries, ripe from mid-August, is to cut the branches whole from the bush and freeze with the berries still on).
Win one of five bottles of Rock Rose gin
This competition is now closed.
