Take the first Step with SockShop
Are you hearing the call of the wild? We’ve all been indoors far more than usual over the past year – now it’s time to get out for some much-needed fresh air. This summer, SockShop are challenging you to Take the First Step and get outside, get active and get fit, whether that’s by mountain hiking, country walking, trail running or heading out to explore Britain’s wildest corners.
Best foot forward
There’s an old army saying – “Look after your feet and the rest will look after itself” and it could easily be applied to walking and hiking, too. There’s nothing more crucial for enjoying a long hike than having comfortable, warm, blister-free feet. Hiking boots are one of the most important bits of kit you can buy, but it’s easy to forget that they don’t work very well if you’re wearing bad socks.
Treat your feet to a great pair of hiking socks when you #takethefirststep – SockShop stock lots of great designs but I’m a big fan of their collection of Jeep Luxury Terrain socks for women. The padded, breathable and deliciously soft Jeep Cushioned Performance Boot socks are perfect worn with hiking boots, the Jeep Cushioned Trainer socks are great for running and trekking in hot weather, and I can’t wait to wear these cosy Jeep Cable Knit Boot socks in winter – they’re like a hug for your feet.
I took my new Jeep socks on a hiking and camping adventure in the Scottish Highlands a few weeks ago. It was the first time I’ve made it up to Scotland this year, and it felt so good to pack my tent in my rucksack and get out on mountain trails, far from busy city streets and wifi signal. Hiking in Glen Nevis was a big highlight of my trip (here’s my hiking route mapped on Komoot in case you fancy following it) – lockdown has definitely made me stop taking the incredible landscapes we have here in the UK for granted.
Where will you #TakeTheFirstStep and go exploring outdoors?
As a Jeep owner these socks are now on my must purchase list!!
