Getting adventure kit ready with GO Outdoors Bristol

I popped in to the brand new GO Outdoors Cribbs Causeway store for an explore and to hunt out some new camping kit.

GO Outdoors is one of my favourite one-stop shops for outdoor essentials at pocket-friendly prices, so I was very excited when a shiny new store opened in Cribbs Causeway, just outside Bristol.

The brand-spanking-new shop is laid out over two levels, and feels rather modern and scandi inside, all pale blonde wood and lots of open space for browsing. Downstairs there’s a nod to new technology in the interactive screens that let you check stock, see what’s available on Gooutdoors.co.uk and compare models. There are also shiny displays of the latest binoculars and watches, every bit of outdoor clothing you ever dreamed up and a back wall full of shoes that itch for adventure, from summer sandals to mountaineering boots.

Upstairs is even more exciting for gear heads – as well as fishing and horse riding kit there’s a whole indoor tent field where you can play in and test out GO Outdoors’ bestselling camping models, from tiny two-man tents to massive family palaces. There’s something weirdly cosy about hanging out indoors in a tent…

It’s impossible to step into a GO Outdoors and not buy anything, I find, and this time I was on the market for a sleeping bag. I’ve long been eyeing up Rab’s gorgeous down sleeping bags, and GO Outdoors’ friendly, knowledgeable staff helped me pick the perfect one for me. Plus, getting a hefty discount (down to £205 instead of £230) by using their store card makes buying your dream kit brands a lot more affordable. Time to plan this weekend’s camping trip!
